$7.2 Million Dollar Medical Mal Practice Award

In this Medical Malpractice case, a Louisiana Resident (our client), a 14 year old child, had her leg amputated as a result of the negligence of both an orthopedic and vascular surgeon. The orthopedic surgeon was performing cosmetic surgery to eliminate the child’s “knocked knees appearance”. During the surgery, the orthopedic surgeon negligently cut the Popliteal Artery (the vessel that supplies blood to the leg). Thereafter, the orthopedic and vascular surgeons again committed malpractice when they attempted to repair the severed artery.
